Preconference Excursion

Addressing Climate Change
APHN Preconference Workshop and Bus Tour
Monday, April 15, 2024 | 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM MT

Join us for a preconference workshop and site visit highlighting the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Denver Westwood neighborhood, where excursion participants will gain additional insights about climate change.

NREL is a national laboratory of the US Department of Energy; NREL researchers are working to transform energy use in the US and the world.  The Trust for Public Lands are working collaboratively with Westwood residents and community partners to achieve community-prioritized changes addressing climate change through the Westwood Via Verde project.  Community priorities in Westwood Via Verde include improved water quality, increased tree canopy, community empowerment and job creation.

A Government issued photo ID is required to enter the NREL facility. Registration will close on April 7 unless maximum capacity is reached earlier. Registration is required by March 15 for non-US citizens.

The bus will then return to the hotel after the tour for a discussion and debrief, which is open to all interested attendees.

The workshop will include a boxed lunch.
